The 10th Christian Women in Media (CWIMA) National Conference will be held April 3-5, 2014 in Dallas. Women who work within the field of media and entertainment will be traveling from across the nation to be a part of this yearly opportunity to learn from their peers, hear inspiring messages, be encouraged and rejuvenated, and network with others within their field. There are also evening events to socialize, ending with the more formal Excellence in Communication Awards Gala. The finale event is part of the conference, yet separate. Both men and women are invited to attend the Awards Gala unlike the other activities that are for women. This year’s honorees are executive producer/actress Roma Downey (Son of God, The Bible) and gospel recording artist Babbie Mason. Founder and president of Movieguide®, Ted Baehr, will be the keynote speaker for the evening.
Other speakers scheduled for the conference include Carol Swain, political analyst, TV host and executive producer of Be the People; June Hunt, author, and radio host of Hope for the Heart; Thelma Wells, TV host, author; former Armani model, author and film personality, Jennifer Strickland; and Karol Ladd, best selling author and renowned Bible teacher. President Suellen Roberts trusts the event will connect and refresh women in communications. She believes that mobilizing Christian women who are active in the different aspects of media will create a force that truly does make a difference as they work independently while relying on the fellowship and experiences of their peers. All women are invited who impact our culture in media, entertainment and leadership. Membership is not required, although there are benefits to being a member. To learn more about this event and to buy your ticket, visit the CWIMA website at www.cwima.org
